Art Basel Miami Beach runs December 4–6, 2026 at the Miami Beach Convention Center — three public days at the center of Miami Art Week, with Design Miami running December 1–6 beside it. December 4–6 are the published fair days, and the invitation previews land just before them. Around the main fair the satellites make it a full week: NADA Miami runs December 1–5 at Ice Palace Studios, and Untitled Art pitches its tent on the sand at 12th Street. Collectors treat the whole stretch as one trip.
That density is the argument for chartering. The fair days are fixed; everything around them — the dinner that materializes, the collection visit up the coast, the extra day you suddenly need — is not. A charter rebuilds itself around the week you actually end up having. We arrange — you fly.
The Densest Aviation Week on the Florida Calendar
Early December is when Florida becomes the busiest private-aviation departure state in the country, at roughly 15 percent of national departures, and fair week is the reason. The constraint is not the arrival. It is keeping the aircraft on the ground once you have landed. Overnight parking at the Miami-area airports is committed weeks before the fair opens, and an aircraft that cannot park gets repositioned out after drop-off.
Book four to eight weeks out and none of that is your problem. We hold the parking with the aircraft, or plan the reposition so you never notice it. You are reading this in time. Use that.

The gravity of the week is Collins Avenue. Faena and the Miami Beach EDITION are its twin clubhouses — minutes from the convention center and the first to book out. The Setai and 1 Hotel South Beach put you on the same sand with more air, and the Four Seasons at The Surf Club buys distance from the crowds at the price of a car ride.
The honest constraint: this is the week Miami Beach room rates go vertical, and the top-tier keys are usually gone by late spring. Inventory is thinner this year with the W South Beach closed for its Waldorf Astoria conversion; the Delano, back after a $100 million renovation, helps but not enough. If the beach is sold out, Brickell and Bal Harbour are twenty to thirty minutes by car — and we will land you closer to whichever you choose.
Where to Eat During Art Week
Miami’s 2026 Michelin list runs fifteen stars deep, and Basel week is when all of them book solid. L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon holds Florida’s only two stars, Mutra took its first this year, and Boia De stays one of the hardest small tables in the city. Reservations release on the standard 30-day windows — set the reminder for early November, not fair week.
The other end of the market is the point of Miami. Stone crab season opens in mid-October, so Basel week catches Joe’s Stone Crab in full swing, walk-in line and all. La Camaronera fries the fish sandwich locals argue about, and Garcia’s on the river does the year-round fish-house lunch between fairs. None of them care who you are. That is the charm.
THE AIRPORTS PEAK USES
Miami in fair week rewards people who know which airport to use. For the convention center, your options:
Opa-locka Executive (OPF): The default for Miami Beach — about 30 minutes to the convention center, five FBOs, customs 0900–2400. The main 8,002-foot runway closes overnight unless opened on an hour’s notice. In fair week, overnight parking here is the first thing to sell out.
Miami International (MIA): Closest in miles, with a single FBO and a wingspan cap on its aircraft parking that rules out most large-cabin jets. Three hours’ notice required. The right answer only for specific trips.
Miami Executive (TMB): South of the city with no overnight closure — the calm choice for Coral Gables stays or a Keys leg after the fair.
Fort Lauderdale Executive (FXE): The overflow answer. Banyan alone holds 200 aircraft, about 45 minutes north when the Miami fields fill.
Fort Lauderdale International (FLL): Big-airport infrastructure with dedicated general aviation customs, and one of the busiest business aviation airports in the country.
