Event Weeks Break Airports
An event does not just fill a stadium. It fills the two or three airports around it. Slots get rationed, parking is spoken for weeks out, and the roads in close well before the first tee or the first lap. The flying itself is straightforward. The timing is the part that takes work, and that is the part we handle.
Peak is a pilot-founded charter broker in Bozeman, Montana. No membership fees, no annual dues, all-inclusive pricing, and operators vetted through ARGUS TripCheq and Wyvern. We arrange — you fly.

Golf: Small Fields, Big Weeks
Augusta and Medinah are not served by big airports. Augusta Regional (AGS) has one runway and takes a year of traffic in four days, with Daniel Field (DNL) absorbing the smaller aircraft. Chicago Executive (PWK) and DuPage (DPA) do the same work for Medinah. Parking is typically allocated well in advance, and the departure slots after the final putt are the real bottleneck. Pebble Beach in June 2027 runs through Monterey Regional (MRY), one runway fifteen minutes from the first tee, with Salinas (SNS) as the parking-relief field.
Motorsport: Two Fields, One Surge
Austin and Las Vegas both run on a departure surge rather than an arrival one. Everyone lands across three days, then wants to leave inside the same two hours on Sunday night. Austin Executive (EDC) and Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) split the traffic for Circuit of the Americas; Henderson Executive (HND) and North Las Vegas (VGT) take what Harry Reid cannot hold. Filing early is what buys the earlier slot.
Film & Arts: Festival Weeks, Tight Fields
Sundance opens in Boulder in January 2027, and Rocky Mountain Metropolitan (BJC) is the field that serves it — 9,000 feet of runway at 5,673 feet of elevation, twenty minutes from downtown, with Denver (DEN) and Centennial (APA) behind it. Art Basel runs the same way in December through Miami-Opa Locka (OPF). SXSW takes downtown Austin for seven days in March, with Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) twenty minutes out and Austin Executive (EDC) as the quieter field when parking runs short. Festival weeks fill hotels first and aircraft parking second.
Marquee Weeks: Los Angeles and New York
The Super Bowl and the US Open sit in cities with plenty of runway and almost no spare parking during the event week. Van Nuys (VNY) and Teterboro (TEB) are the working fields, and each of them tightens up as the week fills. The aircraft is rarely the constraint. Where it sits overnight usually is.
How It Works

3. You Fly
Show up minutes before departure at the field closest to the gate. No queues, no connections, no terminal theater.
Event Charter Questions, Answered
Why do event weeks need earlier booking than normal trips?
Because the airport fills before the venue does. Aircraft parking at the fields nearest a major event is reserved weeks out, slot programs appear, and the best arrival windows go first. The event ticket is often easier to get than the parking spot for the aircraft. Book the flight when you book the tickets.
What actually changes at an airport during a big event?
Temporary slot systems for arrivals and departures, parking reservations with hard caps, curfews, and security restrictions that can close airspace outright, the Super Bowl being the standing example. None of it is visible from a booking site, and all of it is manageable with lead time. That is the work we do.
Can Peak arrange charter to any event?
Yes. The pages here cover the marquee weeks, the majors, F1, the Super Bowl, the festivals, but the same planning applies to a college rivalry game, a graduation or a wedding weekend. If a date and a place matter to you, that is an event charter.
How do I avoid the departure crush when the event ends?
By deciding your wheels-up time before the week starts. We stagger departures around the surge, hold realistic slots rather than optimistic ones, and keep an alternate airport in the plan when the primary will be gridlocked. The clients who plan the exit enjoy the event considerably more.
Are empty legs available around event weeks?
Often, yes. Big events pull aircraft into a region and many reposition out empty, so flexible travelers find genuine deals on the days around the peak. Alerts are free and there is no membership in front of them. If your dates bend even slightly, tell us.
Does Peak handle large groups for events?
Yes. Client entertainment programs, sponsor groups and team travel run through our group charter service, from a super-mid for eight to a VIP airliner for fifty. One aircraft, one schedule, everyone arrives together. See the group charter page or just send us the headcount.
