Private Jet Charter to Monterey & Carmel

Eighteen at Pebble in the morning, Big Sur before the fog returns, dinner at a two-star table in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The peninsula fits all of it into one small map, and Monterey Regional sits four miles from the middle. You pick the aircraft, the airport, and the hour. Pilot-founded, simply exceptional.

Commercial service into Monterey is thin, routed through hubs, and indifferent to your tee time. A private jet charter to Monterey and Carmel skips the connection entirely: depart when it suits you, land at Monterey Regional (MRY), and be in Carmel before the group that connected through SFO has found their gate.

Peak is a pilot-founded charter broker. No membership, no jet card math — one flight, arranged properly, flown by vetted operators. Tell us the dates and the headcount; we handle the rest.

Private Jets to Pebble Beach: Golf Without the Commute

Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Spanish Bay share one stretch of coastline — and one tee sheet that rewards people who arrive on their own schedule. Wheels-down at MRY in the morning and you are on the first tee that afternoon, clubs and all. The airport-to-lodge drive is about fifteen minutes, which is roughly what the parking lot at a hub airport costs you.

A light jet carries a foursome with golf bags comfortably on West Coast routes. Tell us the bag count and we will match the aircraft — nobody's driver flies cargo.

Things to Do on the Monterey Peninsula

South of Carmel, Highway 1 becomes Big Sur — the most photographed road in America, best driven before the tour buses wake up. Back on the peninsula, the Monterey Bay Aquarium anchors Cannery Row, 17-Mile Drive winds past the Lone Cypress to the lodge, and Carmel-by-the-Sea remains a village where the galleries outnumber the streetlights, because there are no streetlights.

The whole peninsula is twenty minutes across. Land at MRY and the trip starts at the airport — not after a two-and-a-half-hour drive down from San Francisco.

Where to Stay in Monterey and Carmel

The peninsula gives you three quite different bases. The Lodge at Pebble Beach is the one most people mean — a short walk from the eighteenth and freshly out of a property-wide refresh. Bernardus Lodge & Spa sits fifteen minutes inland in Carmel Valley, where the fog burns off earlier and the wine country begins.

L’Auberge Carmel is twenty rooms in the middle of Carmel-by-the-Sea, walkable to everything that matters. If the trip is really about Big Sur, Post Ranch Inn hangs over the Pacific a scenic forty minutes south.

One thing to confirm before a golf trip is built around it. The Links at Spanish Bay closed in March 2026 for a Gil Hanse renovation and is due to reopen in spring 2027, so check that it is playing before it goes in the itinerary.

Car Week governs the whole calendar: rooms commit a year out, minimum-night rules appear, and rates move to a scale of their own. The shoulder months either side of summer are when the peninsula is at its best and easiest to book.

Where to Eat in Monterey and Carmel

Monterey County’s two Michelin-starred rooms sit three blocks apart in Carmel. Aubergine, inside L’Auberge Carmel, holds two stars for its tasting menu; Chez Noir holds one for coastal California cooking in a Carmel cottage.

The 2026 California guide added two Bib Gourmands within reach — Yafa in Carmel-by-the-Sea and Maligne on Broadway in Seaside. Both are a good deal easier to book than either star.

The Sardine Factory has anchored Cannery Row for more than fifty years, Passionfish in Pacific Grove does seafood the honest way, and Mission Ranch trades white tablecloths for a sunset over a sheep meadow — with Clint Eastwood occasionally at the piano bar he owns.

The local half of the list is the half worth knowing. El Charrito on Calle Principal makes its tortillas on site and opens at half past seven. Michael’s Grill & Taqueria on Forest Avenue and the Red House Cafe on Lighthouse are Pacific Grove rooms that locals keep to themselves.

Book the table when you book the aircraft. Carmel dining rooms are small on purpose, and weekends go early year-round.

The Two Weeks the Peninsula Books Out For

Every August the peninsula hosts Monterey Car Week — ten days of concours, auctions and vintage racing that end on the 18th fairway at Pebble Beach. Monterey Regional absorbs roughly 675 private arrivals across that week against 225 to 250 in a normal one, which makes aircraft parking the hardest ticket in town.

The 76th Concours d’Elegance runs Sunday, 15 August 2027. From 2028 the event moves one week earlier, to the second Sunday in August, so any calendar set to third-Sunday-always needs editing. The flying detail for that week — parking, the departure surge and what to book when — is on our Monterey Car Week page.

June 2027 is the other date that matters, and it does not come round again soon. The U.S. Open returns to Pebble Beach for championship week, 14 to 20 June 2027 — the first time since 2019 and the last until 2032. That week has a page of its own, with the flying detail on it.

Two weeks, one small airport. Book the aircraft when you book the ticket.

THE AIRPORTS PEAK USES

Three fields serve the peninsula, in order of proximity:

Monterey Regional (MRY): Four miles from Carmel, minutes from Pebble Beach and Cannery Row. The default answer, year-round.

Salinas Municipal (SNS): Twenty minutes inland — the pressure valve when MRY is busy, and the smart play during event weeks.

San Jose Mineta (SJC): About seventy-five minutes north, for trips that continue into the Bay Area.

With access to 5,000+ airports nationwide and worldwide, we position you wherever the rest of your trip makes sense.

Monterey Charter Questions, Answered

Monterey Regional (MRY), four miles from Carmel and minutes from Pebble Beach and downtown Monterey. Salinas (SNS) is the overflow field twenty minutes inland, and San Jose (SJC) works for trips continuing into the Bay Area.

About an hour from the Los Angeles area, 35 minutes from the Bay Area, 1 hour 15 from Las Vegas, and just over five hours nonstop from New York on a heavy jet.

Yes. A light jet handles a foursome with golf bags comfortably on West Coast routes. Tell us the headcount and bag count and we will match the aircraft.

As early as the dates are firm. Aircraft parking at MRY is the scarcest commodity of Car Week — six to eight weeks out is comfortable, less than four is gambling. The 76th Concours runs Sunday, August 15, 2027, and moves one week earlier from 2028. The U.S. Open holds championship week at Pebble Beach June 14-20, 2027, its last visit until 2032.

No. Peak is a pilot-founded charter broker. You pay for the flight, not the privilege of asking about one.

For most of the year, no. It is a Class C field four miles from Carmel with two FBOs and no curfew. The exception is Monterey Car Week in August, when private arrivals roughly triple and aircraft parking becomes the constraint rather than the airplane. Salinas Municipal, twenty minutes inland, is the pressure valve that week.

Jeff and I have booked all our private flights to and from Montana with Peak Aviation Solutions. He is wonderful to work with and accommodates our plans even when we have had to change them on short notice. Everything feels very professional and safe. Planes and pilots are have been great. We have looked at other booking possibilities and they have been more expensive and not as willing to work around our schedules. Thank you, for flying us safely. We love working with someone who is very capable and local!
